DESCRIPTION

A nice original ground rohm SS Dagger (Ehrendolch der SS) by the famous Solingen maker Carl Eickhorn. 

A good blade with the acid etched “Meine Ehre heisst Treue” motto and “Carl Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark nice and dark. The inscription on the reverse has been ground off as instructed by Heinrich Himmler after Kristallnacht. However, some nice traces of the “In herzlicher freundshaft, Ernst Röhm” (In Cordial Friendship Ernst Röhm) still remain on the blade. The tip comes to a perfect point, and the fit fits perfectly up against the crossguard. The dagger comes with a re-painted scabbard which looks good. The solid nickel-silver fittings have a pleasant patina to them. All four screws remain intact, and the ball holds a nice round profile but has some cutting on the side. The solid nickel hand-enhanced crossguards look great. The reverse is stamped “III” (Berlin). The black hardwood grip shows age and some old repairs. There are several marks and chip flakes. A solid SS Ground Rohm by Eickhorn.

Original SS daggers like this one are hard to buy these days and very sought after. We priced it competitively. Definitely an investment piece for the future!
