Afterwards, an appointment must be made; please note that we do not have an “Open Shop” and only work on appointments. We do not welcome drop-in visits. Once we have verified the proof of age,  then and only then the potential customer will be given access to the firearm or weapon he has an interest in. The buyer is allowed to fully manipulate the weapon(s) for as long he wants as long he manipulates the weapons correctly and safely. When an exclusive high-value item is shown, the seller has the right to ask the potential buyer to wear protective gloves (which we will provide). In no circumstances can the firearm be blank-fired without permission from the seller. A life testfire will never be conducted. In some cases, we can accommodate a showing at a fair. This has to be asked by calling in advance to arrange an appointment. A cash payment will be required once the potential buyer agrees to a deal. Satisfaction Guarantee

We long to have happy customers who will return in the future. To the best of our knowledge, all items are original and, unless noted otherwise, not altered in any way. Keep in mind that the majority of our weapons are over 100 years old and, therefore, antiques that have proven the test of time. This gives them age, character, wear and sometimes period adjustments. All prices reflect condition, rarity and collectibility. We always note any significant issues that may impact the item's value. We always provide sufficient and quality photographs (more or specific ones can always be requested) and a full written description that accurately represents the item. However, we do not always have the time to research every item fully.

In the unlikely event you are unhappy with an item, simply notify us that you would like to return it (it is only available within three days of the sale). Returns will only be accepted when the item's condition has remained the same since the day of sale. Layaway purchases are not returnable and are considered final upon order.

All antique firearms and vintage weapons are sold as collectable firearms and are not guaranteed or warranted

as safe to load or fire. The responsibility and liability of ownership, including proper storage and handling, remain

with the customer after the sale is conducted.

Precaution/Belgian Law

Who is qualified to buy and own antique firearms and weapons

The Belgian Law states that every Belgian citizen with a permanent residence in Belgium who is above the age of 18

has to buy antique firearms that are listed as category

firearms. However, Western Antique Guns grants itself the right to renounce any form of sale to anyone who, in our opinion, is unfit to own a weapon. Potential customers under the influence of drugs, medical disorders, in a violent rage or making threats will be escorted out, and the appropriate authorities will be contacted.

If you show up at your appointment in the presence of a minor, we urge you to leave that minor in the car as long as he is independent. We urge you not to bring children who are independent to your appointment to buy an antique firearm or weapon.

The possession of ammunition for antique firearms

Belgian Law states that the owner of an antique firearm is not allowed to possess any type of ammunition that can be used in the guns he possesses without a proper license. The owner of an antique firearm is also never allowed to shoot an antique firearm without an appropriate license. If a license is obtained, the firearm can only be fired in a certified gun range.

Authentic black-powder ammunition (cartridge only, not loose powder) can be bought from licensed antique ammo collectors and sellers. However, this ammunition must be authentic and is for collecting and display purposes only.

We note that there has been much confusion over the years about collecting and buying antique ammunition. We would like to point out that we are not licensed to buy and sell authentic ammunition under our current license. So please do not contact us to buy any ammunition!

How to transport a firearm or weapon

Any type of firearm (antique or modern) must be transported from our facility in a closed case that needs to be locked to your home. The case must be put in your trunk or at least out of reach. It is not allowed to make any detours as long as the weapon remains in your vehicle. We always advise transporting

any weapon the same way.

Storage and display of an antique firearm

According to Belgian law, an antique firearm has no specific storage needs. You do not have to buy a safe or locker to store them. You are allowed to display the antique firearm at your home. However, we always advise keeping any firearm out of reach of children. We also advise you not to display antique guns so they can be seen from the street through a window. Many people are not comfortable with weapons and will alert police when they see them. If you feel the wish to display antique firearms in an area were you attent visitors please always aware them that the guns are antique and unloaded. It is common sense not to toy or prank with antique firearms; this can cause you and the people around you many problems and even fatal injuries when authorities arrive on the scene and react (in what is in their eyes) to a very dangerous situation.

Display of historical weapons or artefacts of the Third Reich

Any historical weapon or artefact related to the Third Reich (Germany 1933 – 1945) will be sold as

a historical relic with no ideological, political, or anti-semic purpose. Be aware that wearing or showing symbols of the Third Reich (swastica, SS runes, etc.) in public is against Belgian Law and, therefore,

punishable.
